We would like to take this moment to cordially voice our disappointment with the newly elected Government of Greenland's sudden and hasty decision, (June 24, 2021), the same decision that immediately halted all new oil exploration in Greenland.

In light of the SAFE extraction of oil and gas in the Arctic, it is no secret that Greenland was poised to be a KEY STAKEHOLDER. The former administration agreed and acted very quickly to offer new oil and gas blocks to all major investors by the end of 2021.

It is also NO SECRET that a recent and credible estimate performed by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) states that Greenland could be home to BILLIONS OF BARELLS OF CRUDE OIL, INCLUDING TRILLIONS OF CUBIC FEET OF NATURAL GAS!

WITH SUCH MASSIVE FOSSIL FUEL POTENTIAL WITHIN GREENLAND'S

VAST TERRITORY, THIS WAS CERTAINLY VERY POSITIVE NEWS FOR

THE PEOPLE AND THE ECONOMIC FUTURE OF GREENLAND.

Investment opportunities were manifesting with major foreign investors looking to invest in the Greenlandic oil and gas industry. These investment opportunities would have definitely served to fortify and accelerate Greenland's GDP and economic growth.

The emerging Greenlandic oil and gas industry was also destined to maximize financial independence for the people of Greenland, offering NEW, reliable and consistent revenue streams, quality employment, and many other highly lucrative opportunities.

Greenland should have positively benefited from these major investments TODAY, and for many generations still to follow.

Will this newly elected administration RETRACT

their hasty decision, or is everyone playing politics?

Without Prejudice

05-05-2022

Attention:  Naalakkersuisut  /  Government of Greenland

In light of the sudden energy crisis that is raging across our planet with no end in sight, at OIL.GL, we firmly believe that now is definitely the time for Greenland to offer Europe and the rest of the world a clean and safe alternative to oil and gas deriving from questionable, foreign regimes.  We equally and firmly believe that the safe extraction of Greenlandic oil and gas may offer Greenland, Europe, and the rest of the world, reliable, stable and safe energy supply that can be trusted for many generations still to follow.

The massive potential of Greenlandic oil and gas can no longer be ignored in 2022.

Given the sudden uncertainties in energy stability and within the oil and gas markets globally, at OIL.GL,we respectfully request that the newly formed Government of Greenland strongly consider immediately holding an official public consultation and referendum with respect to the following important questions:

  • Should the Government of Greenland refrain or proceed with the signing of the Paris Agreement absent the official, thorough and final results regarding the many implications this agreement may have on Greenland?;

  • Should the Government of Greenland immediately retract or maintain the current ban on any and/or all new oil and gas exploration / extraction licenses in Greenland?;

  • Should the Government of Greenland immediately retract or maintain Greenland's participation as an official "core member" in the recently created Beyond Oil and Gas Alliance (BOGA)?;

  • Should the Government of Greenland create and publish an official report explaining in detail the latest in science, technologies, programs, etc, that may make it possible to safely extract Greenland's highly anticipated and untouched oil and gas reserves?;

  • Should the Government of Greenland create and publish an official report demonstrating the entirety of it's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats associated with any and/or all exploration and exploitation of oil and gas in Greenland, including but not limited to the total estimated volume of oil and gas reserves and total estimated monetary value in United States Dollars ($USD) to this date?

TO THE ATTENTION, AND FOR THE PERUSAL OF:

NAALAKKERSUISUT  /  GOVERNMENT OF GREENLAND

IS IT OFFICIALLY “GAME OVER” FOR GREENLANDIC OIL AND GAS?

HOW ABOUT THAT WWW.GREENLAND-RESOURCE-ASSESSMENT.GL?

WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, WHAT IS HAPPENING AT WWW.GOVOIL.GL?

IS IT OFFICIALLY “GAME OVER” FOR GREENLANDIC OIL AND GAS?

On September 29, 2022, Inatsisartut (Parliament of Greenland) has seemingly spoken with respect to the future of NUNAOIL A/S, the national oil company of Greenland. It also appears that all political parties agree that NUNAOIL A/S should cease any and/or all hydrocarbon exploration and extraction licensing.

Consequently, this should mean that, NUNAOIL A/S should be performing all necessary actions to permanently shut down any and/or all operations regarding oil and gas exploration and extraction in Greenland.

This news may serve to drop a permanent anchor on the long-standing hopes for Greenlandic oil and gas. This news may also dissolve any aspirations which the people of Greenland have regarding any and/or all potentially lucrative oil and gas revenues including, but not limited to, potentially large-scale exports, commercial and employment opportunities, taxes, and much more. This could all derive from oil and gas exploration and extraction in Greenland.

Acquired in 2019, we, the independent owners, operators and promoters of OIL.GL, are proud to call www.oil.gl, our “home away from home”.  We believe in Greenland, and we continue showing our appreciation for Greenland through the use of our .GL domain name. We are equally pleased to support the .GL Greenlandic domain space through our generic domain name, with all hopes for many wonderful years and opportunities still to follow.

Coupled with our continued optimism and highest hopes of a fruitful future for Greenland, we are always looking forward, of course, to the eventual safe and environmentally friendly exploration and extraction of Greenlandic oil and gas.

Under the leadership of former Greenlandic Premier, Kim Kielsen, and until June 2021, oil and gas exploration and extraction licensing was being pursued in Greenland. At that time, we certainly heard the message coming loud and clear from the Kielsen administration, and with the utmost enthusiasm and optimism. It should come as no surprise that we are disappointed with the new coalition government's unfavorable decision to change course, and to seemingly shut down any and/or all oil and gas exploration and extraction licensing in Greenland.

In our 05-05-2022 update, we stated the following

(but have yet to receive any formal reply):

“The massive potential of Greenlandic oil and gas can no longer be ignored in 2022.

Fast forward to the present date. Has the Government of Greenland signed the Paris Agreement? The November 6-18 COP27 Conference in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt is just days away.  It is certainly no secret that the spotlight will be shining on Greenland at COP27 to sign The Paris Agreement.  Will Greenland sign at COP27?

An October 26, 2022 news article published in Sermitsiaq AG (Greenland) suggests that the Government of Greenland is hesitant to sign The Paris Agreement. At the 2021 COP26 Conference in Glasgow, Scotland, Premier Múte Bourup Egede proudly announced that Greenland would sign The Paris Agreement. That announcement took place last year. Has there been an unforeseen change of heart, or plans in Greenland since that historical COP26 Conference back in November 2021?

HOW ABOUT THAT WWW.GREENLAND-RESOURCE-ASSESSMENT.GL?

With respect to hydrocarbon resource assessments in Greenland, at OIL.GL, we are well aware that NUNAOIL A/S, in collaboration with GEUS (Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland), and NAALAKKERSUISUT (Government of Greenland), currently use the domain name and website: www.greenland-resource-assessment.gl.  We are also aware that they have been working on completing an official hydrocarbon resource assessment in Greenland for quite some time.

Below you will find examples of information published on the website: www.greenland-resource-assessment.gl under “Project Description” and “Project Area”. At the time and date of publishing this update on www.oil.gl, the quoted information found below was, and may still be, published and accessible on the website: www.greenland-resource-assessment.gl.

“Project Description

  • AU7 – North Greenland (Franklinian Basin) (329,558 km²)  NOT YET FINALIZED”

SOURCE: www.greenland-resource-assessment.gl

At OIL.GL, we would like to take this moment to respectfully request an official update on the remaining, highly anticipated, and finalized resource assessment reports for the “AU6 - South-East Greenland” and “AU7 - North Greenland (Franklinian Basin)” assessment units.

According to www.greenland-resource-assessment.gl, the finalized reports for “AU6 - South-East Greenland”, and “AU7 - North Greenland (Franklinian Basin)” assessment units were expected to be released and published this past Summer 2022. Those finalized assessment units (AU6-AU7) should also seemingly complete the AU1-AU7 Greenland Resource Assessment in its entirety.

Have the AU6-AU7 assessment unit reports been finalized, or are they currently being finalized by NUNAOIL A/S, GEUS, and NAALAKKERSUISUT? If so, what are the final results for AU6-AU7? If not, what date should we expect the AU6-AU7 reports to be finalized, and on or around what date will they be published on the website: www.greenland-resource-assessment.gl, if ever?

At the time and date of publishing this update on www.oil.gl, the latest news update published on the website: www.greenland-resource-assessment.gl is dated April 29, 2022, whereas the "AU5 (Assessment Unit 5, Central East Greenland)" finalized report was officially announced. There has seemingly been no news updates published since that date regarding the AU6-AU7 resource assessment units.

Has NUNAOIL A/S, GEUS, and NAALAKKERSUISUT, now seemingly

abandoned any and/or all hydrocarbon assessments in Greenland?

If so, have they seemingly done so without finalizing the entirety of

the AU1-AU7 results from their long anticipated resource assessment?

If not, where are the finalized AU6-AU7 reports, and when should we

expect to see them published on www.greenland-resource-assessment.gl?

Furthermore, is it safe to assume that all of the valuable resources, financing and time put into creating the Greenland Resource Assessment Project, including the www.greenland-resource-assessment.gl website and information portal, are at risk of being permanently derailed? Will we ever see the up-to-date, completed, official, finalized, and published results for AU6-AU7?

Could this recent news also mean that the current website found on www.greenland-resource-assessment.gl is at serious risk of being taken offline on or around December 17, 2022?  At the time and date of publishing this update on www.oil.gl, the current renewal date posted in the Whois database for the domain name www.greenland-resource-assessment.gl is December 17, 2022.

Will the domain name and website: www.greenland-resource-assessment.gl remain active beyond the current December 17, 2022 renewal date? In other words, will the domain name be renewed and remain online, or will everything go offline on or around December 17, 2022, or possibly even sooner?

Will the finalized assessment unit reports for “AU6 - South-East Greenland” and “AU7 - North Greenland (Franklinian Basin)”, which are seemingly absent and incomplete at this present time, eventually be published for the public to consider? If so, will this be done in the days to follow, and well in advance of any possible interruptions of service at www.greenland-resource-assessment.gl?

At the time and date of publishing this update on www.oil.gl, the latest update posted in the Whois database for www.greenland-resource-assessment.gl is October 13, 2022. It is unclear what was updated on that day, but the renewal date for www.greenland-resource-assessment.gl still remains at December 17, 2022.

WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, WHAT IS HAPPENING AT WWW.GOVOIL.GL?

Does NAALAKKERSUISUT (Government of Greenland), through the

Oil and Gas Department of the Greenland Ministry of Mineral Resources,

etc, currently own, operate and renew the domain name www.govoil.gl?

Furthermore, and with respect to www.govoil.gl, should the Government of Greenland, through the Oil and Gas Department of the Greenland Ministry of Mineral Resources, etc, currently own, operate and renew that domain name, may we respectfully ask the following:

Was the domain name www.govoil.gl renewed during the early hours of Sunday, September 4, 2022? It is well known that www.govoil.gl was active and used in 2020-2021 by the Oil and Gas Department of the Greenland Ministry of Mineral Resources. Click here to view the latest snapshot of www.govoil.gl, taken by www.archive.org on September 28, 2021. The domain name www.govoil.gl appears to be inactive since, with no website or any information posted.

Click here to view the entire web archive for www.govoil.gl.

According to our research, the prior renewal date posted in the Whois database for www.govoil.gl was August 19, 2022, up until the early hours of September 4, 2022. At that time, we observed that the renewal date in the Whois database had updated to August 19, 2023. The domain name renewal date typically updates (in the Whois database) when the domain name owner pays the annual renewal fee. In this case, it would appear that, on September 4, 2022, an additional one year renewal fee may have been paid for www.govoil.gl.

It also appears that the renewal of www.govoil.gl may have taken place within the 30 day redemption period. This 30 day grace period is provided by the domain name registrar before a domain name is deleted for non renewal. The domain name is then returned into the public domain for auction or registration.

The renewal of www.govoil.gl may have taken place “manually” on September 4, 2022. If this is the case, it could mean that the renewal of www.govoil.gl was completed on day 16 of the 30 day redemption period, and just 14 days shy of domain name deletion.

It is unclear if, at that time, the domain name www.govoil.gl may have been placed in manual renewal mode by its owner/s and/or administrator/s, whether it being purposefully, or by error?

This is a very common practice for domain name owner/s and/or administrator/s who may not wish to automatically renew their domain name on a scheduled date, or the annual renewal date. Manual renewal mode is also commonly used when the domain name owner/s and/or administrator/s may prefer to either let the domain name lapse past its annual renewal date, or renew it manually, and as per their convenience, etc.

Why the sudden renewal of www.govoil.gl? Who made the decision to renew www.govoil.gl so close in time frame with all of this unfavorable news regarding oil exploration and extraction in Greenland?

Are there any future plans that have yet to be

publicly announced regarding www.govoil.gl?

Are there still whispers of hope

 for Greenlandic oil and gas?

With all due respect to:

NUNAOIL A/S,

GEUS (Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland),

NAALAKKERSUISUT (Government of Greenland),

INATSISARTUT (Parliament of Greenland),

The people of Greenland,

Including anyone and everyone involved, etc:

Is it sincerely the end for any, and/or all oil and gas exploration and extraction licensing in Greenland?  Is this all part of a "winning plan" to supposedly transform Greenland into a safe, environmentally friendly, and “GREEN” energy producer?

If so, how will all of this green energy be mined and produced

in Greenland without using fossil fuels, and so much more?

It is a known fact that oil, gas, and coal are some of the critical ingredients

needed to produce renewable and green energy, including hydropower.

At the time and date of publishing this update on www.oil.gl, the current renewal date posted in the Whois database for the domain name www.nunaoil.gl is June 1, 2023. The latest update posted in the Whois database for www.nunaoil.gl reflects as October 13, 2022.  It is unclear as to what was updated on that day.

All of this is happening under the watch of Premier Múte Bourup Egede, and at

the exact same time in which our world is in desperate need of clean oil and gas.

Premier Egede, with all due respect, we must sincerely ask you:

IS THERE MORE HAPPENING IN GREENLAND THAN MEETS THE EYE?

Why not promote Greenlandic oil and gas

as the "GREEN AND CLEAN" alternative?

There is an ongoing, global energy crisis,

and OPEC is cutting global oil production.

IS NOW TRULY THE TIME TO DEFLECT,  OR TO REFLECT ON

THE MASSIVE POTENTIAL OF GREENLANDIC OIL AND GAS?

Is all of this unfavorable news which is coming from Greenland simply a case of smoke and mirrors? Are there banners of appeasement now waving in Greenland, and for the time being? Will the Government of Greenland reconsider their position and change their course once again in the foreseeable future?

Is oil and gas exploration and extraction licensing permanently “on ice”

in Greenland, as it presently seems to be, or at least in the public eye, that is?

At OIL.GL, and in our own humble opinion, we certainly respect the decision of the Government of Greenland (and seemingly of the Greenlandic people). This is regarding their allegedly unfavorable position with respect to any and/or all environmentally friendly, safe, and “GREEN” oil and gas exploration and extraction in Greenland.

On the flip side, we strongly believe that the current and allegedly unfavorable position on any and/or all environmentally friendly, safe, and “GREEN” oil and gas exploration and extraction in Greenland, may be temporary. We also strongly believe that this current position may potentially change in the foreseeable future.

For this reason, at OIL.GL, we shall remain optimistic, patient, committed, ready, present and in situ. We are certainly looking forward to many more wonderful years still to follow. In the meantime, we invite everyone to periodically keep posted to our website for any future updates.

At the time and date of publishing this update, our domain name and website: www.oil.gl, is currently renewed until 2026. At OIL.GL, we are firmly committed to keeping this website active and accessible, and for many more years still to follow.

AT OIL.GL, WE ARE POSTIVELY HERE TO STAY!

In the name of clarity and to ensure that there is no confusion whatsoever, we must equally take this moment to reiterate once again that OIL.GL (www.oil.gl) is an independent and privately-owned domain name and website. In NO way, shape or form are we  affiliated and/or in partnership with: NUNAOIL A/S, GEUS (Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland), NAALAKKERSUISUT (Government of Greenland), INATSISARTUT (Parliament of Greenland), the Government of Denmark,  including anyone or everyone involved, etc.

At OIL.GL, we strongly believe in the concept of safe, environmentally friendly,

and “GREEN” oil and gas exploration and extraction in Greenland.

We certainly care about our beloved environment and planet.

We do NOT advocate for nor support polluting Greenland, the Arctic Circle,

the abuse of our environment, or anything related thereto, nor will we ever do so.
